| S.P. Balasubramanium has to his credit one song "Paathshaalate
Indoor Elo" - which was released by MIL as a "Puja" number
in 1983. While that is the factual position, it is really whether this
song really deserves a place in the basic bangla songs category of
R.D.Burman. The song was originally recorded for and belonged to the Hindi
movie Subhkaamna (1983) and is a comedy number, sung partly in Bengali and
partly in Hindi. taking advantage of the Bengali content of the song, it
was released as an EP as a special "Puja" release.
If this song is included and counted in the basic Bengali songs
category (like Nerurkar has done in his book) gives the wrong picture
because the song already exists in the Hindi movie catalog of Pancham. The
same song is being counted twice.
Hence, I have included the song as a Puja release and it finds a
mention in this page of this section, without counting it in the basic
Bengali songs list.
